Yulupa Cohousing!
Features
Innovative
& sustainable architecture
Yulupa Cohousing was designed by Michael Black a local cohousing architect. The unique architecture is bold, fun and colorful. Most home entrances face a large courtyard to encourage interaction with neighbors and to provide a play area for children.
common house
A large Common House provides an ample, well-stocked community kitchen and dining room-multipurpose room for community meals, meetings and events. The Common House also has a laundry room, kids’ play room, and a library-living room for small gatherings and movie nights.
Solar electricity for common areas
Solar panels atop our north building generate electricity for all of the common areas: Common House, guest and exercise rooms, workshop, laundry room and outdoor lighting. During much of the year, use of the outdoor clothesline helps save energy.
bike storage
There are locked storage rooms for bikes for the daily commute or a Sunday afternoon ride. Annadel Park, located one mile from Yulupa Cohousing, provides great trails for mountain-bike riding.
community car
We had a community car, a small electric cart with top speed of 25mph. We sold it because it didn’t seem safe and could only transport two people. We’re considering another fuel friendly community vehicle to share resources and for environmental reasons.
Exercise Room
The Exercise Room has a treadmill, elliptical, and stationary bike, along with weight equipment, medicine balls, and mats.
Guest Room
Yulupa has a large furnished Guest Room to house friends and family from out of town for short visits with community members.
workshop
The workshop provides space for power and other tools, woodworking, and other projects.
